Martin Stacey – Vox

Martin Stacey was forged in the fiery chasm of Mount Doom, where he was imbued with the power to level entire armies with but a whisper of his mighty voice. For many years, he was the secret weapon in Shang Tsung’s evil army, and his roar still echoes across the Nile River, attracting hordes of crocodiles during their mating season. In the summer of 2011, he decided to use his powers for good, and brought his majestic vocal chords to San Jose, where he met the members of Distant Dice. One note from his silvery throat-hole, and they were spellbound. D.D. had no other choice but to beg and plead with him to front their amazing band. Martin decided that any band with the initials “DD”, who made music as sexy as they did, more than deserved the awesome power of his regal voice. Thus begins the dawn of a new reign for the jazz/rock quintet.

Joey Trombly – Keys

Joey put together this all-star cast to make up Distant Dice in August of 2009. He brings to the band his prodigious songwriting skills as well as over 15 years experience playing in local bands around the bay area. If you don’t see him on stage playing with Distant Dice, you can find him teaching kids how to play the piano at the SJG School of Music.

Mark Arroyo – Guitar

Mark Arroyo plays guitar..a lot. If you don’t see and hear him with Distant Dice, then he’s probably playing jazz somewhere. If you don’t see him at all then he’s most likely writing songs.

Jose Martinez – Bass

Jose began as a singer at the age of 5.  At the age of 10, he began studying piano and continued for a number of years. He also played in his church choir where he learned and played the organ/piano, guitar, and the bass. He attributes his musical prowess to his father and now he finds himself with a group of talented musicians where he continues to learn and play music he loves.

Peter Do – Drums

Peter started taking drum lessons when he was about nine years of age, studying with Joe Santoro.  He began his music career playing in various concert / marching / and jazz bands.  In high school he overcame fierce competition qualifying for the Santa Clara County Honor Band and the California All-State Honor Band.  Peter continues to play and perform with various bands that run the gamut stylistically, and hopes to make a name for himself by drumming with Distant Dice.
